With each new iteration of FIFA, EA makes tweaks to many of the traditional game modes. One of FIFA's most played modes, the Pro Clubs mode, comes with a number of new features in FIFA 20. This guide focuses on the new features, changes, and tips for FIFA 20 Pro Clubs.
What is a Pro Club?
Pro Clubs allow gamers all over the world to create an individual player and to play with 10 other real players, which also got a "Virtual Pro". This is why this mode is often called the perfect eSports mode by many people in the community.
In FIFA 20's Pro Clubs mode, you use a created character to team-up with friends or strangers, with each player taking up a single position on the field (including the goalkeeper). You then compete as a unit across league and cup competitions, with the goal of filling the team's trophy cabinet and earning as many promotions as possible. Along the way, you can upgrade your Virtual Pro by performing well in games, as well as assigning them specific Player Traits.
What's New Features For FIFA 20 Pro Clubs?
FIFA 20 Pro Clubs is bringing in a slew of new features and tweaks to last year's mode. We've listed all of the FIFA 20 Pro Clubs New Features below:
Customization
First up, greater physical customization of your Pro.
The company is looking to replace the old model with a universal system across all of FIFA 20.
A new Avatar system that replaces player creation across the entire game – including Pro Clubs.
This feature will bring new ways to design your Virtual Pro's visual characteristics via an improved morphing tool which allows you to morph and define each facial feature to your liking, and also goes further than ever with added morphing options and skin tones.
This new system also maintains all the features from the previous Virtual Pro system – from commentary name to updated goalkeeper gloves to set your preferred celebration/set piece styles.
Some new positions have been re-added to the game like:
﹡ LF/RF
﹡ LW/RW
﹡ RWB/LWB
These newly added positions are also accompanied by a revitalized player progression system within FIFA 20, where choosing between different positions, heights and weights will now have a deeper impact on how your Virtual Pro moves and feels, with these choices affecting all of your Pro's physical attributes.
The stamina has also been re-tweaked in order to create a risk vs reward system so if you invest in stamina and pace, you will sacrifice other attributes for your pro.
Player progression is a huge part of FIFA 20 Pro Clubs. And while you'll gain valuable experience from every match you play, there are certain match types that will increase your player's stats. You'll start at an overall rating of 80, and can increase your stats by playing the following modes:
﹡ Drop-In
﹡ League
﹡ Cup Matches
There will be over 30 additional traits for FIFA 20 that, if paired together with specialty traits, will allow you to take customization to the next level.
Broadcast
A complete overhaul to the broadcast system has been introduced in the game with new:
﹡ AR (augmented reality) overlays
﹡ Replay transition wipes
﹡ On-screen watermark
﹡ Club banners
﹡ Pro Clubs logo
Match types in Pro Clubs will now feature unique broadcast colors to distinguish the mode between Friendly, Cup, and League matches.
Match Types
In FIFA 20 Pro Clubs there will be a further two new ways to play - 'House Rules Cups' and 'Practice Match'.
• House Rules Cup - the Kick-Off mode from last year is now playable in Pro Clubs, It will replace the old cups, and rotate a new match type every day of the week. A different cup will be playable each weekend too.
• Practice Match - practice individually or as a team against varied AI difficulties, from beginner to legendary. Customize the difficulty and tactics of the opposition. You can set which tactics you want to play against (i.e. Possession based or High Pressure) and what overall rating you want your AI opponents to be, from 80 rated all the way to 99 overall rated players.
Further improvements
In addition to FIFA 20's new gameplay features, (which will be fully implemented in Pro Clubs), EA SPORTS have considered user feedback and tackled some of the most requested improvements:
• 'Any' Stamina Bug - Stamina emptied quicker for the player controlling the 'Any' position
• CB in-wall - Taller forwards and midfielders are now automatically placed in the wall to defend Free Kicks
• GK Set Piece - Game stability will no longer be affected when you have a GK as captain and your team has a set-piece
• Club Trophy Celebration - When your Pro Club wins a cup you can now watch the full celebration scene
Another hot topic in the Pro Clubs community is Kit Clashing.
This year over 25 new customizable kits have been added and over 150 crests to choose from.
A Pre-Match Kit Select for all Pro Club matches has also been added.
Once a match is found, the team captains can pick what kits their team will see locally for the upcoming match. The kits displayed represent what both teams currently have selected as their default home and away kits.
The Pre-Match kit selection will work with the kit clashing logic in unison to help deliver the best experience, free of kit clashing for players.
Any other Pro Clubs tips?
There's no fast-track method to Pro Clubs success. However, there are still a few things you can do to help boost your performances on the pitch. You'll find some important FIFA 20 Pro Clubs tips below.
1. Pay attention to height and weight
You can use body morphing to customize your initial frame, and doing so has a big effect on the attributes you start with. Try to alter your height and weight settings to cater to this, but don't go overboard - making your player as tall or short as possible typically isn't an effective strategy.
2. Keep an eye on your stamina
Being intelligent with your stamina is crucial, preserve your energy by only sprinting when the situation demands it. This can be really effective against teams who press constantly, allowing your player to get a second wind when others are tiring late on.
3. Always play with an 'Any'
It's always worth assigning someone to the 'Any' position, allowing them to take charge of all the non-user controlled players on the pitch. Naturally, this role should be equipped by someone skilled in both defending and attacking, and when assuming this responsibility, it can also help to switch to a wider camera angle (such as Co-op) to help scope out your team-mates' runs.
4. Communicate with team-mates
You need to be talking to your team-mates as much as possible, working collectively to generate goalscoring opportunities.
5. Spend your Skill Points wisely
Skill Points are earned in Pro Clubs as you play more games, with up to 110 to collect. You're free to allocate these as you see fit, using Player Traits to improve everything from attacking stats to goalkeeping skills.
6. Use L1/LB for auto-positioning
You can just hold the L1/LB button to auto position yourself if required, helping to prevent your rating from plummeting. This is also a really useful feature for those who play as goalkeepers – arguably the hardest position to play in Pro Clubs – where being in the right spot is the key to making great saves and earning clean sheets.
